I’m really excited about collaborating with the Acoustic Chapel series at St. Gregory the Great in Chicago with my Love and Salt co-author Amy Andrews to produce Tales of Loss and Longing. Amy and I will both be reading new work and introducing The Stapletons, who created one of my favorite albums of 2017: Battles and Ballads.
The event will be in St. Greg’s consolation chapel, which was envisioned by iconographers Meltem Aktas and Joseph Malham to be a space for the grieving. Malham will host a reception in his studio after the show. This is the kind of arts salon I envisioned from the beginning of Sick Pilgrim–bringing together visual artists, musicians, writers, and anybody else working the vein of faith and doubt to inspire and accompany each other.
